Matt Drudge spoke in the past tense about Fox News host Bill O’Reilly in a tweet posted Tuesday, increasing the speculation that the primetime anchor’s long run with the cable news network may be over.
“O’Reilly has had a tremendous run. Very few in the business get to decide when and how things end. Media is most brutal of all industries…” the conservative founder of the Drudge Report wrote.
O’Reilly is taking a pre-planned vacation from April 11-24 in the wake of an April 1 story reporting that five Fox News employees had been paid off to not speak about harassment they had experienced from O’Reilly.
New York Magazine reported Tuesday that Fox News executive chairman Rupert Murdoch’s sons are considering taking O’Reilly off the air. Dozens of companies have pulled their ads off the highly rated “The O’Reilly Factor” since the April 1 story came out.
Another woman came forward Tuesday to say that O’Reilly leered at her during her time working near him.
“He would never talk to her, not even hello, except to grunt at her like a wild boar,” the woman’s attorney, Lisa Bloom, told the Hollywood Reporter. “He would leer at her. He would always do this when no one else was around and she was scared.”
