An anti-abortion group said Friday it would launch a $1.4 million campaign to “expose Terry McAuliffe’s abortion extremism” and support Republican Glenn Youngkin in Virginia’s gubernatorial race.
Women Speak Out Virginia-2021, partner PAC of the group Susan B. Anthony List, said its campaign would fund digital ads and voter contact mail targeting “persuadable as well as pro-life voters who don’t consistently vote.”

Mallory Quigley, the national spokeswoman for Women Speak Out Virginia-2021, said: “Terry McAuliffe’s abortion extremism is an affront to voters across the commonwealth.”
“Our campaign underscores the contrast that Glenn Younkin has made clear throughout this race: McAuliffe stands in lockstep with the abortion industry in support of late-term abortions on fully-developed unborn babies who feel pain, barbaric partial-birth abortions, and even infanticide — all paid for by taxpayer dollars,” Quigley said. “His position is not only morally repugnant — it is politically repellent. Pro-life is a winning issue in Virginia and across the country.”
Susan B. Anthony List’s Candidate Fund PAC previously endorsed Youngkin in the race.
McAuliffe focused on Youngkin’s anti-abortion position, likening his stance to a controversial law in Texas prohibiting abortion after six weeks. That law is the subject of litigation.
Donald Trump says Glenn Youngkin will “do all of the things we want a governor to do.” That means:
❌restricting voting rights
❌banning abortion
❌defunding public schoolsDon’t let Glenn “MAGA” Virginia. Go vote.

This week, McAuliffe retweeted Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia touting its endorsement of his campaign.

In order to protect access to abortion, Virginians MUST elect pro-reproductive health candidates @TerryMcAuliffe , @HalaAyala and @MarkHerringVA

Earlier this year, a poll by the Associated Press and the NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found that while most say abortion should be legal in most or all circumstances in the first trimester of a pregnancy, a majority said it should be illegal in most cases in the second and third trimesters.

The governor’s race in Virginia, seen as a bellwether for next year’s midterm elections, is drawing closer. A Christopher Newport University poll released last week found McAuliffe has a “small but narrowing” lead over Youngkin at 49% to 45%, a lead within the poll’s margin of error of 4.2 points.
