“God has another angel in heaven now,” Amanda Kloots wrote. “My darling husband passed away this morning. He was surrounded in love by his family, singing and praying as he gently left this earth. I am in disbelief and hurting everywhere. My heart is broken as I cannot imagine our lives without him.”

Cordero was diagnosed with COVID-19 in March and put on a ventilator. He was in a coma until May and faced several complications from the virus, including blood clots that led to doctors amputating his leg and severe lung damage.
In addition to Rock of Ages, the Canadian-born actor also starred in Bullets Over Broadway, Waitress, and A Bronx Tale. He is survived by Kloots and their one-year-old son Elvis.
