Biden says race ‘might be over’ for Bernie Sanders, Bloomberg

LOS ANGELES — In a fit of celebration after his resounding Super Tuesday victories, Joe Biden told a crowd of supporters that the campaign of one of his competitors might be over.

“Just a few days ago, the press and pundits said this campaign was dead,” the former vice president said Tuesday night. “We were told when it came to Super Tuesday, it’d be over. I’m here to report we are very much alive. Well, it might be over for the other guy,” the former vice president said Tuesday night.

It’s unclear whether Biden was referring to Sen. Bernie Sanders or former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, both of whom underperformed expectations on Tuesday.

In his remarks, Biden listed a number of states he won on Super Tuesday, including Minnesota, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

“The people are the reason why I’m a Democrat, the reason why I’m running in the first place,” he said.
