Sanders outspent Clinton by $3 million in N.Y. ads

Bernie Sanders outspent Hillary Clinton’s campaign in TV and radio ads by a margin of almost two-to-one, but was dealt a loss in the New York Democratic primary Tuesday.

The Vermont senator dumped $6.8 million toward ads aimed at Empire State voters, approximately $3 million more than the former New York senator spent, according to a Center for Public Intregrity report released Tuesday night.

Sanders, hoping for an upset in Clinton’s home state, spent the past week campaigning through the tri-state region in a strong effort to scoop up progressive voters.

Multiple news outlets projected Clinton as the winner of the Democratic primary at 9:45 p.m. EST.
