President Trump shared an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll on his Twitter account on Monday, touting the survey’s findings that more U.S. adults approve of Republicans in Congress than Democrats for the first time in more than five years.
“GOP now viewed more favorably than Dems, in Trump era (per NBC/WSJ poll) via @HotlineJosh,” Trump tweeted Monday evening.

As of Feb. 18-22, 32 percent of respondents said they approve of the GOP, while 60 percent do not. Across the aisle, 31 percent approve of Democrats, while 58 percent disagree.
Liberals’ approval peaked in October 2013 at 36 percent, according to the poll. Conservatives’ lowest approval was in January 2015, when they received 23 percent.
Trump’s tweet credits himself, a Republican leader, as part of the reason the public’s support for the GOP is growing.
