House committee to vote on 2018 budget plan next week

House lawmakers next week will make their first attempt at advancing a 2018 budget proposal that would serve as the vehicle for comprehensive tax reform.

Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., announced Friday the House Budget Committee plans to mark up the fiscal 2018 spending blueprint next week. A Republican aide confirmed the plan and said an official announcement about the planned markup will come on Monday.
