Amusement park near Albany closes after 62 years

LATHAM, N.Y. (AP) — A landmark amusement park near Albany has shut down after 62 years.

Hoffman’s Playland in suburban Latham opened its gates for the last time Sunday. The couple that owns Hoffman’s is retiring and plans a mix of retail and residential development on the 8-acre plot.
