What do “The King’s Speech,” “Slumdog Millionaire” and “American Beauty” have in common? The films all won the Acadamey Award for best picture, but before that, the films all won the People’s Choice Award at the Toronto Film Festival. While it isn’t a sure thing, it doesn’t hurt to recieved the accolade. This year’s winner was “Silver Linings Playbook,” the Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence film due out this November. The runner-up for the award was Ben Affleck’s “Argo.” Only time will tell if the pattern continues.
