Ivanka Trump to meet with Jan. 6 committee virtually

Ivanka Trump is set to meet virtually with the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 riot on Tuesday.

Former President Donald Trump’s eldest daughter and senior adviser will meet with the committee voluntarily after months of negotiations, as reported by ABC.

Ivanka Trump was among the few people in the Oval Office who was with the president on the morning of Jan. 6, as he phoned then-Vice President Mike Pence and accused him of not having the “courage” to overturn the Electoral College results.

Chairman Bennie Thompson previously said in a letter asking Ivanka Trump to testify that he had four lines of questioning in connection to the events on Jan. 6, namely conversations she had or witnessed about a plan to overturn the Electoral College results, conversations that unfolded in the White House during the riot, her father’s behavior leading up to the riot, and whether he tried to hold up the deployment of National Guard troops.

In January, a spokesperson for Trump confirmed that she was asked to speak to the committee.
