Former Secretary of State John Kerry is releasing a new autobiography called “Every Day Is Extra” that will detail how he viewed “some of the most important events of our recent history,” and that his publisher says is also funny here and there.
“Every Day Is Extra is Kerry’s passionate, insightful, sometimes funny, always moving account of his life. Kerry tells wonderful stories about colleagues Ted Kennedy and John McCain, as well as President Obama and other major figures. He writes movingly of recovering his faith while in the Senate, and deplores the hyper-partisanship that has infected Washington,” Simon and Schuster’s website stated.
“Something I’ve never done before — and I’m not done writing — but it’s been an interesting exercise looking back on life & lessons while still fighting: My memoir, ‘Every Day is Extra,’ will be published by @SimonBooks on September 4th,” Kerry tweeted Tuesday afternoon.

Kerry has authored and-coauthored eight books since his 1971, when he first wrote about his experiences in the Vietnam War.
His forthcoming memoir will cover his entire life and hit on being the “son of a diplomat to decorated Vietnam, five-term United States senator, 2004 Democratic presidential nominee, and Secretary of State for four years—a revealing memoir by a witness to some of the most important events of our recent history,” Simon and Schuster said.
The autobiography will be 608 pages and cost $35.
