WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal prosecutors say a former Metrobus driver who was involved in a fatal 2008 collision with a taxi has been sentenced to a year in prison.
Forty-one-year-old Ronald W. Taylor of Laurel, Md., who pleaded guilty in March to negligent homicide, was sentenced on Friday. Prosecutors say that at the time of the crime, Taylor was on parole in Maryland for drug felonies and faces more prison time in that state.

At his plea hearing, Taylor admitted that on Sept. 26, 2008, he ran a red light while driving an empty Metrobus. The bus hit a taxi.
One of the taxi’s passengers, 55-year-old Bartlett Tabor, of Alamo, Calif., died at a hospital after the collision.
