Police ID teen shot to death at birthday party

The 19-year-old who was killed at a birthday party Sunday has been identified as Bryan Vidarte, of Centreville.

Loudoun County sheriff’s deputies said Vidarte was fatally shot around 3 a.m. at a residence on Tappahannock Place in the Lowes Island community in Sterling.

Guillermo A. Alvarado, 20, of Sterling, and Rasheed L. Nurse, 26, of Herndon, were charged with second-degree murder.

Pedestrian hit by car charged with illegally crossing the road

A 20-year-old Manassas woman was charged with carelessly interfering with traffic after she was struck by a car while crossing the road outside of a crosswalk, Prince William County police said.

Christine Elizabeth Woodard was hit around 3 a.m. Monday while crossing Centreville Road near Spruce Street on the downward side of a hill crest in Manassas, police said. She suffered minor injuries.

Nanny accused of showing porn to kids

Hyattsville police charged a nanny with showing pornography to children in her care and asking them to pose nude for a webcam.

Aza Hrnjic, a 22-year-old immigrant from Bosnia-Herzegovina, was charged with child abuse and was ordered held on $350,000 bond Monday.

According to charging documents, Hrnjic showed the Web sites to a 5-year-old boy and 10- and 12-year-old girls. She asked the boy to stand naked in front of the computer camera, the documents say.

Police investigate CVS robbery

Fairfax County police are investigating a robbery of a pharmacy in the Burke area.

Around 3 a.m. Tuesday, a man wearing a mask entered the CVS drug store at 8930 Burke Lake Road and pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded money. The suspect was described as white and about 5 feet 9 inches tall. He was wearing a black sweatshirt and black pants with a white stripe on the legs.
