This is such an important idea to the modern Democrat and media establishment that the Biden administration even appointed a disinformation czar, and many news outlets hired “disinformation” reporters.
The big idea here is that misinformation and disinformation are not merely false claims but that they are knowingly false and harmful. The Biden administration believes that justifies it to lean on tech companies and news outlets to remove the information.
