Coalition forces and the Afghan military captured two leaders of the Haqqani network — a group that attacked the U.S. embassy in Kabul last month — and a Taliban agent during joint operations today in eastern Afghanistan.
“The [Haqqani] leader conducted attacks against coalition forces and distributed weapons throughout the area,” the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) Joint Command announced earlier today.
