The Obama administration said Friday it will take new steps to address border security, after a recent surge in the number of unaccompanied minors crossing into the U.S.
Between Oct. 1 and June 15, 52,000 minors have been apprehended, according to administration officials; 39,000 adults with children have also been detained.
