Steve McNair made his first unofficial pass as a Baltimore Raven before Thursday?s morning minicamp practice at the team?s Owings Mills headquarters.
McNair, dressed in street clothes, played catch with linebacker Terrell Suggs briefly as the team stretched.

McNair?s presence at the facility immediately brought a breath of fresh air to the last day of a three-day minicamp. Players and coaches seemed happy to finally see the quarterback at the facility, after weeks of rumors of a potential trade.
“Sometimes a new guy walking in the door, especially at the quarterback position, is very helpful,” offensive coordinator Jim Fassel said after the morning practice. “There?s no question he walks in, he?s going to have the respect.”
Throughout the morning, quarterback Kyle Boller ran the team?s offense. Boller was steered away from the outdoor entrance to the team?s lockerroom, where the media stood following practice.
Fassel said McNair told him he was looking forward to working with Boller and building a relationship.
“We talked about situations. We talked about Kyle,” Fassel said. “He said ?No, it?ll be great. I?ll love working with Kyle.? He?s talking so positively about being with Kyle and Kyle?s talking about having him here. That?s the biggest relief off my mind, because that?s been there with other ones where, man, they can get ugly.”
McNair joins several former Tennessee Titans on the Ravens, including Samari Rolle and Derrick Mason. Both said they were ecstatic to see their former teammate.
Mason, who is in his second year with the Titans, said he could sympathize with Boller.
“I have been in that situation before where you go in thinking you?re going to play, thinking you?re going to get a lot of the reps and everything and all of the sudden they bring somebody else in and you?re like ?Where did this come from??” Mason said.
Mason was McNair?s top receiver for eight seasons and said it will not take much to restore their chemistry.
“It?s like a riding a bike. You?ve been with a guy for so long and all of the sudden you switch teams, and then lo and behold he comes to the same team that you?re on. I don?t think you lose anything,” Mason said.
