Hey, bud, wanna buy a think tank?
Jason Alderman and Phil Reiff have placed the Bay Area Center for Voting Research, the Internet-based think tank they founded in 2004, for sale on eBay.

“We democratized the staid world of political research by creating the first Internet-based think tank,” Reiff said. “Using the eBay auction process to select the next leadership for BACVR is a perfect extension of our innovative approach.”
The eBay posting notes that the auction comprises “all of BACVR’s intellectual assets, including the organization’s Web site, past research, and well-known name,” though there is no brick-and-mortar property.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the initial price of $5,000 had been bidded up by a hundred bucks.
