Donald Trump is pulling out his wallet to make a last-ditch effort to maximize his July fundraising numbers.
The Trump campaign sent out a fundraising letter on Sunday saying that the GOP nominee will match 100 percent of donations up to $2 million before the end of the monthly filing deadline, which is midnight Sunday.
It is unclear whether the campaign would be able to raise $2 million before the deadline or exactly how much cash Trump will be forced to part with.
Trump routinely campaigned during the primaries on the idea he self-funds his own campaign, but since the bruising primary season has concluded, he has been reaching out to donors to keep up with Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
The latest push comes as Clinton has significantly outraised Trump.
In June, Clinton raised $146.3 million compared to $81.1 million for Trump. Clinton also had more cash on hand: $139.2 million compared to $61.4 million, according to multiple news reports.
Altogether, Trump has put about $50 million of his own money into the race, according to Bloomberg.
