Three men have been arrested in a series of violent armed robberies, including a brazen holdup of an armored vehicle outside a Walmart in Bowie that was caught on camera.
According to charging documents filed in federal court, the trio is also responsible for holding up a Hyattsville Walmart and a credit union in Clinton. In the three armed heists, the men took nearly $300,000.

The robbery of the armored car was captured by Walmart’s security cameras, and a video of the heist was disseminated by Prince George’s County police earlier this year.
About 8 a.m., on Jan. 16, a Garda armored call pulled up to the entrance of the Walmart on 3300 Crain Highway to pick up receipts from weekend. Just as a worker approached the armored vehicle carrying bags of money, three masked gunmen pulled up in a white van. One of them can be seen on video pointed a gun at the man’s head and snatching the bags containing $88,000 in cash, and checks totaling $13,000, documents said.
The three men fled in the van, abandoned it nearby at a farm off Mill Branch Road, and fled in another vehicle. The van had been stolen from a D.C. charter school.
Law enforcement officials said the men also committed an armed robbery at the Hyattsville Walmart at 6210 Annapolis Road in October.
The men walked into the store in masks, brandished a firearm, then threatened and detained employees, charging documents said. The robbers made off with about $140,000 in cash.
They are also accused of robbing the Navy Federal Credit Union branch at 8825 Branch Avenue in Clinton.
