Ag pioneer in SW Va. honored with historic marker

EWING, Va. (AP) — A historic marker is rising in the far southwest corner of Virginia in memorial to a pioneering agricultural educator.

The Virginia Department of Historic Resources marker will recognize the work of William H. Starnes. He was an influential educator in southwestern Virginia in the first quarter of the 20th century.
